Ashley McCleery
Hide and seek. A game of playful secrecy, taking cover in the small nooks and crannies of the everyday. A brief camouflaging of self to experience the anticipation and excitement of being found.
But what happens when the camouflage becomes constant? When we start to hide the deepest, truest parts of ourselves because we're afraid of being too flawed, too broken? When we sink further into sadness because we feel so lonely, unknown, and unlovable?
This may sound a little terrifying and maybe even a little exhilarating, but I would love to play hide and seek with you. And when you allow me to find you, to see those parts that feel too messy, too exposing, I hope to come alongside you and offer compassion, empathy, and understanding. Over time, we will hopefully cultivate self-compassion and self-acceptance so that you will begin to feel peace.
